Q: We already have our own band. Can we join?
A: Yes!. We want to hear from you.
Q: Is there a cost or fee to join YouthBands™?
A: NO! There are no costs or fees associated with joining YouthBands.org, nor are there any fees for performing. This is totally FREE.
Q: What is the dress code for performances?
A: You should dress appropriately for the type of music you play. Example: Country musicians should perhaps dress with western boots and a cowboy hat, although not required.
Q: Where are the meetings held?
A: Our Bash meetings are held at Marco's Pizza, 3322 West Mercury Blvd Hampton VA 23666.
Q: What is YouthBands™?
A: YouthBands.org is a private, non profit which organizes the annual Back To School Bash concerts.
Q: How do I get involved?
A: You must be between 9 and 19 years old, play an instrument and be willing to play in a band, either your own band or one we pair you with. Simply send us a request on the contact page.
Q: What type of music may I/we play?
A: You can play anything that is energetic, country, rock, (no punk or acid rock though), Folk, or whatever you like.
Q: Will our songs and lyrics screened?
A: Yes. We screen all content for inappropriate material, including propensity towards profanity, relativity to drugs, sex, violence or gangs.
Q: What kind of audience do we play for?
A: You will be playing for a family oriented environment, in public. We perform in public venues, and for military families in military housing youth centers, schools, etc.
Q: Do I have to practice?
A: You bet! Practicing is the only way to learn your songs and become the best. Most of our members practice daily for optimum experience.
Q: Is transportation provided to and from events?
A: No. You must have transportation to the events. We are still a pretty small organization and do not have the resources to pick folks up.
Q: Do I need my parents permission to join YouthBands.org?
A: YES! Your parents must sign a waiver and release of liability if you are under 18 years of age..
